2025 Retrospective
In 2025 I archived 13,975 photos, 4,077 of which I marked as favorites. (2024: 16,217 archived, 4,633 favorites). That is the smallest number since I have been actively tracking it. One of the main reasons is probably that I am attending fewer events as a photographer.
20% of images I tagged “home”, which means I took them at and around my home (28% in 2024). 40% of my 2025 images have at least one of my daughters in them. Documenting my family – as always – has been by far the most important part of my photographic practice. It is a bit less than in previous years, but that’s probably due to the fact that my daughters are starting to spend more time outside, with friends, etc., where I am not always with them. It will be interesting to see how that number shifts when they grow even older.
Cameras: The Fujifilm X-T5 has held onto the top spot of my most used camera, with 42% (58% in 2024). My Leicas have gained back a bit of ground with the Leica M10-P at 35% (vs. 33% last year) and the Leica Q – in third place – with 16% (9% in 2024). I had an M11 Monochrom loaner for a couple of weeks with which I made 5% of my 2025 photographs.
The month with the most pictures taken – 1,731 of them – was November.
