Looking at the new Fuji X100VI made me think of the old (and often repeated) mantra: “It is not about the gear!” What a load of crap! It is totally about the gear – but probably not in the way most people think. It is not about the technical specs (more megapixels!), but about the feeling a certain camera invokes. It is just a tool yes, but if I (very much) enjoy using it – and it compels me to pick it up when it is just sitting on my desk – I will make more and better images.

All of the ten most recent videos under my YouTube subscriptions tab are about the Fuji X100VI. (I am not buying a new camera!)

Trying to explain to my six-year-old daughter why she can’t listen to her favorite radio plays from Apple Music on her (my old) iPod.

Mario and Yoshi after beating Bowser in Super Mario Bros. Wonder

My six-year-old and I just beat Super Mario Bros. Wonder! What a delightful game. Highly recommended. We are looking forward to exploring more and finding all the wonder seeds we missed so far.

Finally switched my photo blog to Kirby 4. I had to do nothing, it just worked. 🙌 (Well, other than uninstalling the wonderful Commentions plugin, which is no longer developed.) I really like the new and improved panel. 👌 Can’t stress enough what an absolute pleasure it is to use Kirby.

If everything goes as planned, I will actually use it every day from January 1st, when I start another 365 project (366 actually) of daily photo blogging. Wish me luck! 🤞

I think I am ready to start a new 365 project… 🤔
