Project 366 is my – currently ongoing – project where I post at least one image on my photo blog each day during 2024.
Ever since starting the project, I wanted to have a printed record of it as well.
Initially I thought about putting all of the images into a book. However the sheer amount of photographs will be way too much to actually fit into any kind of book. Maybe if I made them very small and had multiple images on every page, but that’s not really what I want.
So, I decided to go with the magazine format, which is my favorite anyway for various reasons: It’s cheap (at least compared to a proper book), the quality is great (I use Blurb for printing) and I like the format very much in general.
In most cases I tried to go with one page per blog post, which means I still needed to put multiple images onto some of the pages, but that is ok and there are also two page spreads and some images, that stand alone.
I will split the whole year up into four parts, so one 366 zine per quarter.
Part I
A couple of weeks ago I finished the layout of part I (January – March) and the proof copy just arrived. I am very happy with the result:
There will be some minor corrections for the final version, eg. a little more padding at the bottom of the text pages.
The Content
- 144 monochrome and color (!) images
- 6 pages of annotations (the text part of each post) in the back of the zine, with page references to the images
- 116 pages in total
Cost for Printing & Shipping
Let me preface this, by saying that it is not my goal to make any money on this, but obviously I can’t hand the zine out at a loss. (Although that would be nice!)
- Printing costs with Blurb are roughly 23 EUR per copy
- Shipping from Blurb is ridiculous, eg. 10+ EUR for a single copy, more than 20 EUR for five copies
- However shipping from me to almost anywhere in the world is between 4-8 EUR
- The plan is to use a Blurb coupon usually brings the price down somewhere between 20-30%, sometimes shipping is also reduced
So the total cost for one zine including shipping comes in at 25 EUR.

The order for part I has gone out. You will be able to order a copy in the future, once I finalized the other parts.
By signing up via the form below, you will be in the loop for when the next zine will become available and I also sometimes write about my process of create the zines:
Thank you so much for your interest! It is a truly special feeling to send out my photography into the world in printed form! ❤️
