366 Zine

Ever since starting the currently running 366 project, I wanted to have a printed record of it as well.

Come December 31st it will be way too many images to fit into one book, so I decided to go with a magazine format (my favorite anyway), and split everything into four parts, one for each quarter.

A couple of weeks ago I finished the layout of part I (January – March) and the proof copy arrived today. I am very happy with the result:

Example spread of two images, a folded crane on the left, a flock of pigeons on the right
Example spread of two images
Example spread of two text pages
I feel like a little more padding at the bottom would improve this.
The zine’s spine, reading 366 part I
In my experience the spine is always the trickiest thing for Blurb to get right. I’ve had this “slightly off-center issue” a couple of times. Usually they are very accommodating in these cases and will send a new copy.

A couple of photoblog readers have already signaled their interest in owning a copy as well. Let me know if you are interested as well, so I would be able to bulk order a couple of examples, which will help with shipping costs (Blurb is always ridiculously expensive on that front). Plus I would be able to sign your copy. 😎

Update 2024-09-18: I added a proper page for this project.
